The Veil that Covers

“Mom, why did God give us eyelids?” My son just asked me that question the other day? “Well, it’s for protection from the elements. Besides, when we sleep, we have to keep the light out and we have shields for total darkness.”

Now I was glad, he was asking about God’s creation in the whole process. At his age, sometimes, children just question, is God really behind the whole thing, or some alien life form. Or perhaps the big explosion, made these eyelids of mine. Yea, I’m thinking even my 14 year old son, wouldn’t be buying that story. The zombies make way more sense, than, “hey son, there was a big explosion in space and we all came together and your face was made. Oh, and eyelids were formed so you could blink and sleep. Isn’t that amazing?” He’d say, “Mom, you are really insane.” But look people. This is what is taught as a science in your schools to your kids. They razzle, dazzle them with a bunch of words, and make it sound like a science. By the time they come out they think it’s real. But if you break it down in simple terms, this is what they’re saying.

So, my son say’s,” why didn’t God just let our eyes get wet?” I had to laugh at the sound of all of us crying all day long. For some people with hardened hearts, it sure wouldn’t hurt. I think there are people that do things in this world, who haven’t shed a tear. At the heartbreak they have caused. They’ve never uttered the words, “I’m sorry,” to the people they have hurt. They have never bothered to humble themselves to anyone. So perhaps that would be a good idea. But that wasn’t God’s plan.

God has a plan and it is coming soon. It involves His church. He refers to His church as His bride. It is an amazing analogy as I will point out. Many on this earth have not understood. In scripture it is referred to as “a mystery.” Yes, this is because the Bride is veiled, until her time of revealing.

But veiled to whom? “And even if our gospel is veiled it is veiled to veiled to those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians4:3 Now the true church of the Lord is not a building, as many believe. He specifically told his followers, “You also are like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. (1Peter 2:5) The Lord does not deliberately veil the gospel. But what I see in this, is that there are some who are hardened and no matter how much you try to reach them, they are unwilling to soften. “So as the Holy Spirit says; “Today, if you hear his voice do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the desert. (Hebrews 3:7,8)

I had a dream yesterday, that a young girl had asked for me to be some kind of a mentor to her. I don’t know if I was in a restaurant or what it was. But when we got together, she was so full of pride, she kept telling me the way it was going to be. Every time I opened my mouth, she started talking. It was as if, I was working for her, and she was my manager. She was haughty and sat towering over me, as if I was now applying for a position at her company. It was all very strange. Almost as if she just wanted me here to feed her pride. It made me wonder why I bothered coming here in the first place.  I kept my mouth shut, as the Lord reminded me, “I am opposed to the proud, but I give grace to the humble.” I realized the Lord was testing her heart.

Now, I told her, “Look, you are the one who contacted me to help you. But I cannot, if you keep trying to teach me.A student isn’t greater than the teacher. You have no experience in this area, yet you are not teachable. You will  not accept any help. I do know about this. I don’t want recognition, because I am not looking for it. But you just have made this a miserable experience. I’m afraid I will have to stop this.”

About a week later, she contacted me and asked me to help again. “I can’t do this. I really need your help. I know you can teach me, because you have experience.” “Ok,” I told her, “But this time, you will have to trust me.” I have some knowledge in this area.” The exact same thing happened. This girl rose up against me.  Every time I tried to show her something or, help her, she knew better. It was as if this was so deeply ingrained in her, she just couldn’t stop herself. She couldn’t receive direction from me. She was the same as the Lords description of the Jews in the desert, “stubborn and stiff-necked.” I couldn’t take it anymore. I said, “That’s it! You’re on your own! I have reached the end of trying to reach out to someone who wants to wallow in their own mess they’ve created. If the hand is extended and it is not taken, what can you do?” A few weeks later, I went by a fast food restaurant to pick up some food and I saw her. She was miserable and I wanted to cry. I said hello to her. She looked so sad. She had eyes, which were pleading with me, but I didn’t know what to say. I knew it was something which had to happen to break her of her pride.

This is heartbreaking in the eyes of the church. The church is God’s presence on this earth. This is why we pray, “Your kingdom come, on earth, as it is in heaven.” We are the earthen vessels, which carry this very precious treasure. The Holy Spirit. Which makes us the Holy Church. The veiled Bride. Yes, we come and we go. Into many people’s lives. Some recognize us, and some do not.

So there are many in this world who run to buildings of worship, to go to church. This is a verb. But our Lord uses the description to Peter as a noun. The true church, which our Lord is referring to, is a living breathing organism. Vessels, which are yielded for His use. Regenerated vessels, by the power of the Holy Spirit. So when we walk this earth, we Are the Church!

Now let’s look back at the examples of Jesus Christ. He went into temples. But very few times did we see these examples given to us in scripture. His core ministry was to the lost and it was out in the world. He did not find importance to impress with accolades of the priests. Human pride is the downfall of many. They too, did not recognize Him. He was our example.

He was persecuted by the Pharisees and the Saducees. All the teachers of the Law. They were filled with pride. They wanted to teach the teacher. They had no idea who stood before them. Their eyes, were veiled.

Then, the unthinkable; they blasphemed him. They told him his power came from the devil. They were all liars, yet, when they spoke against the Holy Spirit by calling him a liar, they were condemned. (Luke 12:10)

Now as, believers, we represent the true church. Yet many don’t see. The Lord tells us; “And I will ask the Father and He will give you another Advocate to help you and be with you forever-the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives in you and will be in you.” (John 14:15-17)

So, we see here that many people in this world run to structures, which they call churches. They may have fellowship with one another. But the true church, presents itself to us. We do not run to it. And many times, as I know from my life. As I have gone forth to be a witness, I’ve been persecuted. People have grieved the Holy Spirit. Some have even blasphemed the Holy Spirit.

And remember the Lord told us that “if the world hates you, know that it hated Me before it hated you. (John 15:18) So, we are not in bad company if feeling persecuted for no particular reason. It is because we are indwelt by His Spirit.

There’s nothing wrong with going to structures for fellowship. However, many people are inside buildings and have no relationship to Christ. That is not to say that some people in those buildings have no relationship to Christ.  By the same token, many of the true church, do not run to buildings. Just like Christ and His disciples. They did not waste time, on buildings. They ministered as they went about their daily lives. Christ gave the commission, and made no mention of “making structures.” The problem was with Judas taking in the money, if you recall. Those disciples were to get their needs met by the people along the way. The true church, as they fed the gospel, they were fed, by the Father. Their, ‘daily bread.” There was no room for corruption. And the disciples continued to work at their jobs. Interesting isn’t it? I had a young girl tell me that “the church is a business.” Which clearly showed me her lack of understanding about what the capacity of the church really is.” But this is why our Lord entered into the temple with a whip and turned over the tables.

I had not been so keenly aware in my past. We are to be consecrated for His use. If someone is turned out, of the church. It is not punishment. It is for their own consecration. To preserve their soul. The Lord loves us so much and is willing to do everything possible to bring us back. Not willing that any man should perish. He speaks of His discipline “for our righteousness.”

Many times I had dragged the Lord into acts of unrighteousness without any understanding of the Holy Spirit in my life. To keep the temple holy. It meant nothing to me. I was stubborn and rebellious and thought it was just a bunch of words. The Lord had to train me through much suffering.

His desire is to present to Himself a radiant bride. Spotless and without blemish or wrinkle. So we must see that until this time, we will suffer to that end. So, the bride is on the earth making herself ready. She is presenting herself before the masses with a message of hope. Spreading the Good News. It is a message for all mankind. I’m praying that your bitterness does not enter in and the veil be removed. The Lord wants everyone to enter into His wedding feast.

The Bride of Christ

Always waiting for my beloved

Always waiting for my beloved

I had a dream about 1993 and the Lord had shown me that I was about to endure some tribulations as His bride.

I had been in a fellowship at the time with many strong believers and had learned so much about my calling and my gifts. I also learned about spiritual warfare and the enemy that stalks us strong believers to try to seduce us back into the world. If you would have asked me then I probably would have said, “Oh that’s not going to happen to me. I can certainly recognize the schemes of the enemy and won’t fall into that trap.” I would have never imagined that years later, when the ultimate tribulation began in my life, that I would become blinded to the one that I challenged on so many other occasions. “But don’t you know that Satan himself appears as an angel of light, so that he may deceive many?”

Now I had forgotten all of that. Yet deceived people rarely know they are deceived until the Holy Spirit brings that conviction and warning. The Lord had shown me all too clearly in this particular dream, that I would indeed be deceived and it was to happen not too long before the wedding is about to begin.

When He brought this dream to back to my memory, I had to look at the circumstances of my life and acknowledge that everything had happened according to this dream.

The dream;

I was in a church and I was getting ready for my own wedding. I was wearing what appeared to be a red slip and one shoe. I could not find my gown or my other shoe. I was crying out to my bridesmaids that I needed these parts of my apparel or I would not be ready.

They were scrambling about trying to find my things for me when I ventured out of the church into a beautiful meadow. I was immediately impressed with the serenity of it all and had forgotten the fact that I was even about to enter into matrimony.

I had continued to walk and there sitting on a brick wall was a man. He was holding a guitar and singing in Italian. It was mesmerizing. I looked at him and was longing for more of this seductive music. I sat and listened as he looked at me and sang some more.

Suddenly, I remembered! “Oh, I said, I must leave. I have to get ready for my wedding!” “No! He said. I have more, listen! He started to play and before I could become hypnotized,  once again, I decided to run.

I ran across the field toward the church. As I entered into the sanctuary and the small room, I saw my bridesmaids, holding my gown and my shoes. They hurriedly dressed me and placed my veil upon my head as I heard bells to start the ceremony. I was ready with just minutes to spare.

When I looked at the dream that I had written into my prayer journal, the Lord revealed so many things to me. He reminded me that I had been called and chosen when I was just a young girl. I had accepted His proposal. Yet, I was not finished. I had to consecrate my life and be ready for His return.

I learned about the ancient Jewish wedding customs and it was so beautiful and it also taught me that this is also an incredible picture of what is spoken of in scripture as the Rapture and following wedding feast.

When a man proposed he did it with a special cup of wine. It was a marriage proposal that was sealed as the man and woman drank from the cup. The future groom did not immediately take his bride.(Take drink, this is the covenant in my blood) The disciples were accepting Christ’s proposal of marriage.

He was to go to his father’s house and prepare for his bride. (I go to my Father’s house to prepare a place for you.(John 14)

The bride was to be ready at all times, since the groom would not let her know when he was coming to get her.(All of the virgins did not have their lamps full of oil at the bridegrooms return, therefore were left out of the wedding banquet. Matthew 25)

With a shout and the blow of the shofar, ( a rams horn) the bridegroom will announce his coming to his bride. (he shall send His angels with a loud trumpet call. Matthew 24:31, 1Cor.14:8, 1Th4:16)

At this point the bridegroom collects his bride and they shall go to the wedding feast. They would then go into a secluded chamber to consummate their vows as the fest continued. They would remain hidden for seven days. (Seven days, symbolizes the seven years of tribulation on the earth after the rapture has taken place. (Revelation 19:9) This is known as “The time of Jacob’s troubles.) It is a time of suffering that the earth has never known and it’s main purpose is to bring in the most hardened of unbelievers. It is also the time that every nation shall come against Israel.(Jacob)

After the bride and groom have consummated, they rejoin their party and it is the first time they see the bride, unveiled, in her radiant glory.(And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being  transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.(Cor.3:18)

The bride revealed in Revelation 21:1,2) “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, thew new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”

What a glorious picture! Who wouldn’t want to be a part of this? If a person thinks anything on this earth is superior, it is only because they lack faith. All of these things shall come to pass.

Now back to my dream. The Lord had interpreted this to me and it doesn’t take too much discernment, after understanding what I have just shown in scripture. I was in a rush to get ready, yet I was still lacking in my wedding garments.Matthew 22:11 The Parable of the Wedding Banquet) (Clothe yourself in Jesus Christ-Romans 13:14)

I thought I was ready, but the Lord revealed that I was not. I still had a longing for the world, by going out of the sanctuary and into the world, right before my own wedding was to begin. I was seduced by the world and had completely forgotten my groom.

As I wandered, I came upon another man that tried to seduce me with his charm. This is a picture of the enemy.

The Holy Spirit reminded me of my vows and the spell was broken. (Greater is He that is in me, than the one that is in the world.)(1John4:4)

At that point, I ran back to the sanctuary to find my bridesmaids, loyally waiting for my return with all my garments prepared for me. (Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance, the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes upon Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. Hebrews 12:1,2)

I was made ready, spotless and blameless for my wedding. (Ephesians 5:26,27) to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

This is difficult to grasp, since we are all in a body of sin, however, all of these things when submitted to the power of Christ, will give us the ability to overcome, so that we can be a bride, “being made ready.” And “when He appears, we shall be like Him.” (1John 3:2,3)

Is it possible? Of course! Christ has told us and we know this to be true.
