The New Age Isn’t New

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

So what if this was it? The year where all debts were cancelled? A clean slate? Well, we are to preach the message as if it is the last hour. He has poured His Spirit out with this command.

It is His gift to mankind. In 2 Timothy4:2, we are told to, “Proclaim the message, in season and out. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach them.”

As I said in my last post, some do not accept teaching. But I wanted to point out, not from a place of pride, teaching is only from the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. And it is with the genuine love for people and the concern for their soul, not for selfish ambition.

When I see people, striving to sell something as it relates to ministry, or self-promotion, I can only be a little bit suspicious. The enemy loves to get a foothold in this part of our soul. We are all very susceptible to this sin. I can see how many times he tripped me up with this. I almost smelled the smoke of my own burning flesh.

The other day I was thinking back to my rebellious youth. I had come into a department store and had started working with a girl who was very sweet and pretty naive. Another girl was a bit older than us and she was more worldly. She was a hard rocker, with a boyfriend in a rock band. So, I kind of fit right in the middle. She told us all about her escapades, as she went on the road with him and his band. Helen, shocked by all her stories, and me, just laughing at everything, as if I knew it all. I thought I was so cool. I saw Helen doing things she wouldn’t normally do, like smoke cigarettes.  Helen and I would go out after work to the place across the street. This is when I realized what it was to influence a persons behavior. Never thinking about the negative aspect. I just thought it was humorous.  I found this out at my performance interview.

My manager sat me down, and spoke. “Listen. You have tremendous leadership potential. You just need to channel this in the right direction.” There was another guy in a department who I would talk to when I would walk through the store. “You need to slow down.” He would tell me. “Hmm, whatever, that’s supposed to mean.” I thought. The guy was about in his 30’s and I thought he was older than dirt.

I was about 18, and I thought I had the world by the tail, and no one could tell me what to do. I sure had no idea what they were talking about. And no one could teach me anything about anything. Isn’t it funny how I can still remember their words now?

The Lord tells us, that the Holy Spirit calls all things into remembrance. He is our, “Paraklete,” or Counselor. So He had actually placed so many in my life all along my path, to guide me, to warn me, to encourage me. As my stubborn feet, kicked, and dug in. As I shook my own fist and questioned. He knew, I would one day bow my knee in repentance. But how much suffering came first. Yea, I had fun, but at what cost? Believe me, there’s a lot of very small print at the bottom of that bill of goods. There’s nothing in the end. With the Lord, there’s a much better deal. I’ll take the clean slate…Thank you! His blood, for my sins??? Why hesitate? Oh, and did I mention? It’s a FREE gift!

Now the Lord said to Peter that, “Satan had requested to sift him as wheat.” But he reminded him that He would pray his faith remain strong, and when he was finished, he turn and encourage his brothers.”

So we are all allowed the same opportunities. Our Heavenly Father, does not play favorites. And there is no sin too great to be forgiven. However, there is only one way up, and that is by bowing down. Repentance.

“Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord!

Guardian of Souls

As I have been blessed to be a part of so many people’s lives, coming and going, I realized, it has been a test, of sorts.

After the loss of my brother, and my father, a fact emerged, which I knew was something which was a gift, which the Lord had given me. In spite of the fact that it was quite painful He would use this gift, as the seed, to bring forth fruit. And the fruit would bear more fruit.

I was to be a witness to last wishes, as it were, and actually been in the presence of my brother, as the Lord took him home.

This would be the beginning, as I found, of the souls, which would be entrusted to me. I would make trips to the nursing homes, the hospice, hospitals, and literally, anywhere, which the Lord would see fit to send me. I would be in rooms with families, to usher those souls into the hands of the Lord. Sacred moments, prepared in advance.

I began to understand what the Lord meant when he spoke to Peter and he had a request for him, “feed my sheep,” he said. To tenderly care for the precious souls left in his care.

Timothy was reminded, “to guard, what had been entrusted to his care.Turn away from Godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is commonly called, knowledge, in which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith.” 1 Timothy 6:20

The Lord reminds us that he “guards the feet of his saints.” (That isn’t someone deemed a saint by the Catholic church either) It’s anyone called and anointed by God.

He has told us that when we’ve been tested and shown that we can be trusted with a little bit, then we can surely be trusted with the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

The problem is that most people cannot see past, ‘the little bit.’ Satan has them so blinded by pride, power, or greed, that this is where they begin to stumble.

Now, I have a true legal guardianship of my brother. In man’s legal terms it is written, Guardianship of person and property. But, stealing ones property to most people would really be infuriating. Although in my mind, this is not why I was called into action.

No, my calling and purpose was defined by God as a Guardian of souls. And this is what has been tampered with. My God owns the cattle on a thousand hills. So doesn’t all property belong to him? Yes. So it is the souls of these, which are of his greatest concern. This is why He steps in.

Yes, there’s a plan and it involves my calling. I know who I am. It has taken me a while to be sharpened for the task. But I see my lineage. There is my great uncle Harvey Graase. I laugh about him with my family. He worked for the US Department of Treasury. My mother and my relatives used to tell us the stories all the time. He lost his eye to a gunshot by Dilinger. He was one of the Untouchables. My Aunt told me when they would go to Chicago to visit him, they loved it. He was a rough kinda guy, just as he should be, and he’d reach under the bed, and grab a cigar box filled with different colored, glass eyes. He would tell them to pick out which one they wanted him to wear. Now that’s just plain cool. Urban legend? I don’t think so. I did a record search and got some of the papers. He certainly was working for them at that time, and my crazy cousin was right about one thing. A lot of the guys under Elliot Ness, sure didn’t get the credit they deserved. But then again, if he was anything like, I am hoping, he wouldn’t have wanted it.

Now, my point is there are true spiritual ‘Untouchable’s.’ And believing to be from that lineage, the Lord had already spoken this into existence. Elliot Ness had a difficult time finding ‘the incorruptible’ men. Just as our Lord has a tough time finding the ones untouched by the world’s pull. The ones to guard the soul’s entrusted to them. So, God being a supreme Elliot Ness, did speak of these chosen ones. The remnant. 1Chronicles 16:19-22 When they were but few in number, few indeed, and strangers in it, they wandered from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another. He allowed no man to oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings; Do not Touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.

There is no legal document which I need to give me this power.  It was ordained by God. It is the same providence which made Mordecai speak those famous words to Queen Esther, “Do not think that because you are in the kings house, you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place. But you and your father’s family will perish. But who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” Esther 4:13-14

All of us have unique callings and purposes, in this life. It is up to each and every one of us to choose whether we will fulfill this or not. God tells us, we have free will.

One day about a year ago, I had my bible stolen out of my car. It was a study bible, which I had for years. Many markings and scriptures highlighted. I decided to report it to the police, just in case, it was necessary for safety reasons. I still believed, the person needed it, more than I did.

When I sat down with the officer, he was a little stunned, that someone would steal my bible. After sharing that I had two perfectly good DVD, players, which were left behind, he laughed and said the same thing. “The person obviously needed this.” But then somethings strange. “Hey, do you have a big dog?” “What? No, why do you ask?” As I started thinking, maybe he got the letter’s mixed up, and he meant, God.

“Oh, I just know your name.I’ve heard it before, and thought someone said you had a big dog.” I thought that was really strange. But then the Lord has been reminding me of the moniker used for the Holy Spirit. And lately with what He’s been revealing to me, it’s all starting to make sense.

The other day, He reminded me of the primary reason He’s called me as Guardian of Souls. And everywhere I walk, I have the Hound of Heaven, with me. The Holy Spirit. He hunts people down. No one can bring me harm, nor harm to those who belong to my Lord. The Hound of Heaven literally pursues people to bring them to repentance.

The Lord loves all men, and His desire is to chase them down. He will do whatever it takes to bring them back from the brink of destruction. Men become insane with greed and lust. They do not know what they are doing, and the Hound of Heaven has a job. To sniff them out, and chase them down. To wear them down, until they can run no more.

Until they finally give up the chase and surrender. I have seen the criminals do this many times on the cop shows. The dogs, literally take them down. It’s sad, but they almost seem relieved. Sometimes this is what the Lord has to do to us.

Give up, while you still have time!

Don’t Embrace Deception, Destroy It!

I was thinking about my prayer journals that I have kept over the years. I will pick up one of them and begin to read. Always amazed at the miracles which I’ve experienced. I detail everything. Including dreams and the fulfillment of those dreams.

Many are prophetic, and I know the difference. They have a powerful influence, and spill over into my natural life. I feel the Lord revealing things and reminding me of the dream and it’s messages. I see the little reminders or signs, as He is revealing the prophetic meaning in my ‘real life.’

Many times, when it comes to prophetic dreams, being completed,  they have a repeating theme. I will think it has come to its conclusion, only to begin again. And I also realize it is for a much larger audience, that I had originally understood. Perhaps the Lord does not want to overwhelm me with this knowledge.

One such dream, was many years ago. I had been in leadership in a church. It was experiencing some shaking, in the top  and I had a profound dream. I knew it had something to do with this. I met with the pastor and his wife to share what I had seen.

It was indeed, quite prophetic, as the knowledge which I shared, I could have not known, had it not been the Lord who had revealed these things to me. At one point, I posed a question to the pastor and his wife about this particular part of my dream. They both looked at each other with as much surprise as can be expected when the Lord, “reads our mail.”

But now, as I said, This dream speaks to a much larger group than just that church from so many years ago. The Lord had me revisit this dream. And I will share this. You may ask the Lord how this applies to you or your life.

The dream:

We were all a large group, standing outside of the church. As we stood close to each other, someone screamed. I looked around, and the large crowd seemed to part, in a panic.

Right down the middle, ran a huge iguana. It ran straight up into a tree resting on the highest branches. Everyone screamed in terror.

I looked at the pastor’s wife. She had a large apple, in her hand. She proceeded to throw it. But instead of throwing it at the iguana, she tossed it straight up into the air.

I watched it go up, and as it fell, I placed my hand out to catch it. When I had it firmly in my hand, I drew my arm back and threw as hard as I could. I hit the iguana, and it fell out of the tree and died.

Everyone’s fear was immediately gone and replaced with a feeling of peace.

As I said, this dream I had in 1993. Almost 20 years ago.

Now, after I had that dream, I was troubled. What did it mean? I knew what I was dealing with on a personal level, in that church. And it involved the leadership and a lot of drama.

One day we were having a church picnic, at the beach. As I was watching all the strange behavior’s of the people involved in this dream, the most bizarre of all, was what I would say the Lord used to shake me up.

A man was walking past all of us with an iguana. As one of the people asked him to stop, she said, “May I hold it?” As she took hold of this iguana, I remembered my dream. I couldn’t believe this woman, who was very involved in this mess, was now standing before me, petting and cuddling this iguana. It was so bizarre, that this in itself, seemed like a dream.

Now the Lord told me, to remember the details of this dream. When I returned home, I opened my journal and read. This iguana, symbolized, something. The Lord revealed to me that it was, “Deception.” The Lord revealed that this woman was, “embracing deception.”

Next, I thought of the division, caused by, ‘deception.’ As this spirit ran through the crowd, terrifying everyone.

I thought of the ‘apple.’ Which I realized, has always been implicated in the fall of man. Apple, would be symbolic of ‘sin.’ And in my dream, the pastors wife seemed to have the power to address this spirit, but, she allowed it to rule.

So, after the apple was tossed up, it then fell into my hands. I didn’t hesitate. I landed the fatal blow. I realized I couldn’t wait, or this sin, would not only destroy me, but everyone else. This is what ‘deception’ will do.

Well, we know that deception is just another name for Satan and his army. The Father of Lies.

Now, as I was thinking of this in a broader sense, I realized that I have since found out much more about this dream. As I look back, I realized, that was one incident. Now, I have in my hands, the ability to take him down. The Lord has given this to me. Just as He did for David. He took 5 smooth stones, but he only needed 1. Because the Lord’s power is upon me.

So now, I wait. I pray and ask Him to show me, what, when, where. It is His timing and His plan. But I know that He tests His servants, to see if they are worthy to carry out the plan. It means we must die to ourselves. If we begin to ’embrace deception,’ the plan is rendered powerless. We must totally surrender to our Father’s will. Seek Him. It is a plan to deliver all men from evil. Not just some. And no one can earn this great gift.

It is ours by grace. When ‘deception’ falls and dies, our lives are resurrected. The scales will fall from our eyes, and we will see clearly. And we will not see a horror in a tree, but, Jesus Christ. The one who gave His life on a tree, for us! There’s nothing more amazing, or more beautiful than this!

The Seer Anointing

To Be Chosen

To be chosen and set apart. “Sanctification; Who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through the sanctifying work of the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.” 1 Peter 1:2

Now isn’t that great? I was just joking with a friend of mine about my great-uncle the other day. He had been part of the US Treasury Dept and chosen for the Untouchables group called with Elliot Ness to track down Dillinger. Unfortunately a lot of those guys didn’t get the credit, but his eye took a bullet by him and he had to wear a glass eye the rest of his life. I heard that story from my mom and my aunts and my Aunt Dorothy told me he loved to pull a cigar box out with a bunch of different colored eyes out so they could pick one for him to wear. haha! What impressed me, was that to pick these guys, they had to go through enough men to find people who couldn’t be bought. Well I think today, that would almost be impossible. But it’s nice to know that integrity is up line.

God speaks in this scripture of the foreknowledge and His sanctifying work by His spirit. Many people come to Christ and think that’s it. But the work has just begun. The fruit of our lives must be a progression of sanctification. A separation from the world.

The world is in direction opposition to God and His ways. In scripture the regeneration and the sanctification process is not pictured as a slow process but a clean break  from the bondage of Satan’s hold on a person and a turning away from the things that ensnare. As we continue to put to death the misdeeds of the flesh we become stronger to all the things that ensnare us and walk in victory over sin. It is at this point that we become more sanctified and increase in our anointing.

Believe me, this is something that the enemy has great fear of. To be chosen, sanctified and anointed! It’s all the power of the kingdom resident in a believer…it is the church!!

The Anointing Breaks the Yoke

I was at a bowling alley the other day when I dropped my brother off and decided to stay in the car. I had a touch of the flu and decided to remain in the car so I wouldn’t spread the germs.

As I put my seat back I listened to a teaching tape I had and realized the players battery was dead so I tried to close my eyes and rest. About an hour later I was listening to a loud whining in the parking lot and it sound like a werewolf howling. This was horrible.

I looked behind me and there was one of the vans that picks up a group home and it looked like the passengers were inside, but one person was lying on the ground and the two female caregivers were trying to pull her up by the arms. This was terrible, I thought. Did she fall? Was she having a tantrum? I got out of my car and wandered over, first to look in on my brother and see what frame he was on. He still had a long way to go. At this point one of the male caregivers for this particular group home was sauntering past, seemingly oblivious to the whole scene. Now one of the women, was on the phone with a coordinator, as the other woman was trying to bribe her with ice cream. This woman was about 200 pounds and there was no way they could lift her into this van. I asked her, “Does she do this a lot?” “Yes, she’s done it a few times and we aren’t going to bring her anymore!” Half saying it to me, and half saying it to her. And now she’s saying, “And she wants to get a job too and I don’t see her being able to do that!” At this point she tries to give her the ice cream again and the whole scene is very sad as her head is on the ground and she’s crying very hard like a little baby and rocking back and forth as if something has control of her. Now the man comes up and tries to give her a $1 to get into the van.

It was right then that I heard the voice speak to me. I walked up to her and put my hand on her forehead as she stared straight ahead and said, very quietly I spoke, “release her right now in the name of Jesus, Diane get into the van,” and she got up and walked into the van.

The woman holding her looked at me and said,” what did you do?” lol The fact is, I didn’t do anything. The Lord did. It is His anointing in me. He just wants me to be the vessel and take a step of faith. Speak the word. Now the proof is that this woman is mentally challenged and had no idea that she was being used by a spirit. She didn’t argue her faith or existence of demons, which any so, called rational person would do This is why deliverance for her was swift and apparent. She was crying out for help. It is sad. How many believers are running around and have no idea what power they have available to them and refuse to use it. Why? Are they embarrassed of the name? When you pray deliverance, you don’t have to scream and shout like a faith healer trying to attract attention. Jesus Christ was never trying to attract attention to Himself and He didn’t need to. The kingdom of God does not exist of words but of Power! But the only way anyone will experience this is when take the step in faith.

Jesus Christ told us that if we are ashamed of him, that He will be ashamed of us before His Father in heaven. He came to set the captives free, and He gave us that same power and authority before He left this earth. Man, I’m going to use it, with whatever time I have left.

Of course I know, not everyone has an evil spirit, but if I have the discernment of the Holy Spirit speaking to me, and the anointing in me, it’s going. When that woman asked me what I did, I said, “next time…pray first.”

“I Am the Light of the World.” Jesus Christ

Yes, it’s no coincidence that both Chanukah and Christmas are all about lights. The Son of God, came into the world and filled the darkness with His light.

The Festival of Light or Feast of Dedication, as it’s also known is full of pictures of the messiah. In fact He was at the Feast of Dedication, when He spoke these words. Once again, to all the religious teachers, were too blinded to really understand His message to them.

When Christ was born, He entered into the world and He was laid in a manger. He was wrapped in swaddling cloths,(a white linen cloth) for warmth. A beautiful picture, but only the spiritual eyes could see the full meaning. Not only a picture of His birth, but it would be a picture of His death ,the white linen grave cloths. Also, remember, this from my earlier post, is what the Lord tells us we must purchase from Him, to cover ourselves at His coming, “to cover our shameful nakedness.” (Rev.Church of Laodicea)This cannot be purchased by ‘covering ourselves,’ as the world would do, but by allowing Him to cover us with His righteousness through the acceptance that we are sinners.

The wisest men of the day, the ones who also studied the lights in the sky, knew where He was to be born. And there He was, just a babe, however, the picture is incredible, is it not? We have been so inundated with Hollywood fantasy, we fail to grasp the sheer magnitude of what really took place that day. God, stepping into the body of flesh and being born into a sinful, corrupt world. What a picture already beginning with his parents having to be alienated because of a death sentence against all male children, and to find no place to stay but a barn. Yet, God the Father, with the plan in place, provided for their needs, and He also foreknew that this would be the picture for us all. No, Christ was no lying in a cute little basket, but a manger, where the animals ate their food. He shared a bed with the creatures of the earth. He became a servant to us all. How can we be anything more than He was? But yet it is that pride in us that He tried to combat on this earth. The very first sin. He tried to show His disciples “that unless they would allow Him to wash their feet,” they had no business following Him. Always giving lessons and like us all, the disciples were always needing to be reminded. Every time I see Jesus saying to Peter, “Are you still so dull? I have to think He’s speaking to me.

Now when the miracle of Chanukah took place, it was a small band of men, God used, once again. He likes those kinds of odds. This miracle was a very significant picture, because just as the Passover with the disciples pointed to the past Exodus from Egypt, and future resurrection of Christ, Chanukah, pointed to the past, Jesus as a baby, Him speaking of the Dedication of the Temple and the future, the Holy Spirit filling our temples.

The oil in the lamps was made of olives and the olives needed to be pressed very hard to get just a small amount of oil. It would have been impossible for the Macabees to get this oil in time. The oil in scripture is also referred to as The Holy Spirit and it is not until we are “hard-pressed,” that this anointing is really released. Most of us must suffer to begin to walk in faith. To understand what it is to be totally reliant on God.

The cruz of oil was then filled with enough for one day. The Lord reminded us to pray this way as well. “Give us this day, our daily bread.” Just as enough manna, (bread was also a picture of Christ) was only given for one day to the Israelites, as they wandered the desert. This is how they were being taught His ways and learned to follow Him and to trust Him for their provision.

Next a “swaddling” was placed into the cruz of oil to allow it to burn. Here is where we see the ultimate picture of Christ. He was “filled with the Holy Spirit.” The wise men, knew that this was a word picture and the fulfillment of prophesy. Through this little baby, all the nations of the earth would be blessed. “Here He was wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” And now you had all of the heavenly hosts proclaiming “Glory to God in the highest, Peace, Good will to All Men!

Now when we celebrate chanukah we can see that the center candle, the Shamash, is the Servant, or Helper candle. It lights all the rest. Just the same way, that we are filled with the Holy Spirit when we ask Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior. He comes to us and places His light within us. But the real picture is that now we can dedicate the temple to the Lord. “Know ye not that you were bought for a price and you are not your own? Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.” We dedicate ourselves after we have received His free offer of salvation. It is only after receiving the power of the Holy Spirit that we can overcome the natural desires to sin. He gives us the power and there is no other way. We cannot earn it or work it out on our own. We can only acknowledge that we can’t do it without Him. To understand that He didn’t die for us because we are so good, but because we can’t be good enough. But He can and He loves us all so much. This is why He stepped down from eternal glory to suffer on our behalf.

On that day the angels in heaven rejoiced, “Immanuel!God With US!”  What a scene that must have been!

To only know that this innocent baby would suffer so much because of my sins makes me weep, yet He willingly did this for me and for you.

Jesus Is the Reason for the Season!

May you have a blessed Chanukah and Christmas!!!
