One Nation Under God?

One Nation Under God

At least that’s what I used to think. But it’s sad to say, we are not. We are under man’s rule.

Every day it is more evident. The rules become more and more blurred. Yes, the founding father’s of this country wanted a nation that had a standard that was set and upheld by Biblical principles. We had people of integrity that had spilled their own blood to hold fast to what they knew was written long before as a moral code for all mankind. But a spirit has been working for thousands of years to erode that standard. It is the blinding spirit of antichrist.(1John2:18-20) Satan uses the world’s idea’s , moral’s philosophies, etc., to oppose God’s people, His Word and His righteous standards.

As an example, he will use the medical profession for the killing of unborn babies.  Medicine to be used for bringing health, is prescibed by doctors in pain clinics to as opiates and these clinics are now a nuisance nationwide.  Yes, Satan, has used everything he has up his sleeve to numb the senses and corrupt what God has given man.

Now I just had a discussion with someone about  the issue on the health care bill she claimed that carried this all important “Executive Order,” which has been very powerful, in the past. Well, that’s just, in a word, ridiculous.

I had a Christian friend that had commented that this was “the law of man,” and this woman didn’t seem to understand her comment, since to her, the “law of man,” seemed the ‘be all, end all.’ Well, I would have to say  that, if we are to say that we are, “One nation under God,” there is a conflict with this statement. Why aren’t we researching what God has to say about these very important issues? Why isn’t everyone in their chambers and on their knees  seeking His face? Of course I already know the answer and it is the reason that our country is in the dire straits that it is in, however, our God will not be mocked.

I pointed out to this woman who although this, “Executive Order,’ seemed powerful in her mind, from all of her research on the prior history; it is full of loopholes. Man is corrupt and can twist anything as we know. The laws can be circumvented and the Lord has already spoken many times in scripture about the sanctity of life. Oh, I know, I also used to be an advocate of choice.

That is-until I saw Gods own words and the Holy Spirit convicted my heart. I could not argue with His words. When he spoke to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:4,5) It points out to anyone , that God does indeed know us, before we are even in our mother’s womb, and He has a destiny for each of us.

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.” (Psalm:13-16) After all, God alone is the one who, “opens and closes the womb.”

Why don’t our nation’s leaders defer to the one whom they claim we are UNDER? If they had read these scriptures, we would have no need of the executive order, nor would we have any need of executive anything. We should have known this would be the sword that divides. The Lord told us that He did not come to this earth to bring peace, but a sword and it would divide. It would divide even family because of His name and one of His names is, The Word  He has the final say in this matter. The Lord is the ultimate executive order.

Let’s just call a spade a spade, shall we? This nation isn’t under God and that’s the whole problem. But one day it shall be.

Now if they really want things to be in order, I will point the way; (2 Chronicles 7:14) “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

We don’t try to apply laws to make it convenient for our lives of sin. This is the slippery slope that is leading us down the path of destruction. The Lord is warning us to turn back. His Word is the moral compass that has kept us on the safe path and we’ve wandered far from it.

We need to return to the humble roots of our beginnings. Worship God and seek His counsel in His word.
